Hawaii certified shorthand reporters must earn 3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within each three-year period.
Hawaii Rule 9.2 requires those CEUs to be approved by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), and the reporter is responsible for submitting documentation showing that the continuing education requirement has been completed.
Hawaii also allows a reporter to align the three-year Hawaii CE cycle with the reporter's RPR cycle. Credits earned beyond the required amount cannot be applied to a later cycle.
